Get Science On Your Side
Beauty comes from the inside out and there are an abundant number of methods to ensure your skin has the nutrients it needs to look healthy and be protected. To protect this skin from the outside, sun protection is key. Excess UV exposure leads to premature skin ageing including the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation, not to mention sunburn and risk of skin cancer.
Enter sunscreen and other sun protection measures. Whenever the UV is 3 or above you should be using an SPF30 or higher sunscreen along with other sun protection measures.
UV-iQ Australia is a range of luxurious facial sunscreens offering SPF50+ broad spectrum PA+++ protection with scientifically-proven skincare ingredients.
Hydration Is Hero
Skin cells contain “Natural Moisturising Factors” (NMF): a collective term to describe components that occur naturally in the skin to keep the water inside the cells. The skin also produces sebum – an oily substance that sits on the skin to prevent trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL). As we age, we have less NMF in our cells, so the skin gradually loses its ability to keep itself hydrated.
UV-iQ products are formulated with emollients such as fatty alcohols and other ingredients lighter than traditional mineral oils, that prevent trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), soften and smooth the skin without feeling heavy.
Hydroviton® 24, contained in all UV-iQ formulas, is a synergistic moisturising complex of nine natural moisturising factors (NMF), humectants and skin rejuvenators, which is proven to provide 24-hour hydration and buildable hydration after multiple applications.
Despite our best intentions to keep skin healthy and protected, our environment can sometimes work against us. Areas with high levels of air pollution can pose a threat to the health of our skin, with particulate matter known to damage the skin’s protective barrier, leading to skin sensitivity and the accelerated appearance of pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles.
Air pollutants can originate from various industrial, commercial and private sources and are increasingly present in the ambient air of urban locations. Under the influence of UV radiation, they trigger the formation of ozone, one of the strongest oxidising compounds, that can be used as a marker for air pollution levels.
Laboratory scientists present a solution in Unicontrozon, the star ingredient in the UV-iQ Anti-Pollution Collection. It is a plant-derived, active complex that helps to protect biomolecules in the skin from the damages induced by ozone pollutants. Unicontrozon is made from lemon fruit extract and fumaric acid which, is an important component of the fumitory plant and forms an efficient, protective system.
The complex was studied to prove its ability to protect six, naturally-occurring molecules in the skin (representing enzymes, hydrophilic and lipophilic vitamins, proteins, red blood cells and cell membranes) against the damaging effect of Ozone.
With scientifically-proven skincare ingredients designed to protect skin from modern lifestyle and environmental factors, UV-iQ is an ideal addition to your daily skincare routine.
